It’s on! Deal is finalized… Well, that’s what TMZ is reporting. And TMZ has been very reliable through the years. So I believe.
Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao is on, for May 2nd.
May 2nd obviously lands on a Saturday and it will be an electric day; especially in New York City. That Saturday will feel like an old school day — and the reason why I say that because we haven’t had a mega boxing fight like this in years. Back then, when there was a big Mike Tyson fight, people would have parties in their houses. May 2nd will be like.
It’s great for business, as well. Bars are gonna be packed, people are gonna buy food and beers for their party in their house — it’s gonna be fun.
To me, the last time there was a big boxing fight was Tyson vs Evander Holyfield. And if I had to guess another big fight back then with this juice, it would also be Oscar Dela Hoya vs Felix Trinidad.
It’s been what the boxing fans have been waiting for. Mayweather vs Pacquiao is the only fight that’s left, that’s craving to see. There’s nothing out there, in day and age of boxing.
Can’t wait! Or maybe Bart Scott says it better…
