50 Cent “P.I.M.P” feat. Snoop Dogg & G Unit – July 15th, 2003
This was 50-mania. In the early 2000s, 50 Cent was the hottest thing since Eminem’s debut. He just blew the doors wide open, with hits, after hits.
From the late 90s to early 2000s, Eminem and 50 Cent were the biggest names in hip-hop, with of course — Jay-Z; but Jay was already big. Though Eminem and 50 were needed in the rap world. The hip-hop game took a big hit when Tupac and Biggie Smalls passed. And 50 rejuvenated the hip-hop world.
I’m surprised and impressed how 50 Cent went about his career. He had two major albums, then after that he went away from music and began his own marketing business. I was shocked that he didn’t make more albums but also admired how he felt like he didn’t need to make more music. Decided to do something different with his fame career — I like that.
